I changed the "X" stitch to a double crochet for my own use without any issues. However, your instructions are very confusing. Where does it say that you are starting with the sleeve or side of the front? Where does it say that when starting with the V-split, that you count up from the bottom or down from the top to the 58th stitch to attach the yarn and chain, continuing with the pattern then chain 40? Hopefully there are no more confusing issues with this pattern. I hate ripping out. Can you please clarify these issues and send out a revision?

I'm got this pattern out of my Crochet! magazine and the materials listed it ask for 4 yarn weight but the yarn recommended here its a size one. Either way I'm almost finished with it and I'm hoping it turns out great as its a real nice looking top and I'm having a great time crocheting it.

I ordered the pattern and when I saw the instructions I thought, "Oh no, I can't do this" even though I am a very experienced crocheter. But I decided to give it a try by learning the stitch before starting the project. After a few tries and errors, I finally figured it out. It is not a project that is going to go fast at least not for my old hands; however, once you get the hang of it, it can go smoothly. I have completed 9 rows of the project and really see how the stitch is going to work now. Instead of Omega Dalia I am using Think Bamboo which is also a very fine yarn. I bought it in a pastel varigated color and my only complaint is that the thread separates quite easily so I have to go slow in order not to have that happen. I really think the top will be worth the effort when I get it finished. The fabric is going to be very comfortable to wear year round. If you like to try new things I strongly recommend this one!

I ordered the Apache yarn. It is not true to color. Much darker than it appears on line.
