Nobody knows when birthstones first appeared, or who chose which stone to represent which month. But your very own birthstone becomes a cherished gift. Are diamonds your best friend? They should be if you were born in April. Are you a pearl without price? If so you must have been born in June.

Volume One of Birthstone Dolls gives patterns for January through June. The dresses are accented with jewels and lace; many of the dolls wear appropriate jewels for earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

These are fun to make and fun to give.

Special notes: These dolls are not toys. Because of their accessories, they should be used for display only. For display purposes, tissue paper has been used to give added flair to the full skirts.
