The Best of Terry Kimbrough Baby Afghans is my all-time favorite baby crochet book! To date, I have made over 30 afghans from this book alone! I recently purchased yet another copy because I have worn out the old one, crossing out repeat patterns and then erasing the marks, etc. These designs look very complicated, but most of them can be created easily by crocheters with only beginner or intermediate skills. Many of the patterns use only single and double crochet stitches, and maybe a very easy shell stitch. These patterns tell you on the first page if any "special" stitches are required, and how to do them. That lets me know if I will enjoy doing many rows of this pattern. I have used different yarns to make Sweet Dreams, which appears to have a floral border, although each row goes completely across the afghan. I always give afghans as baby gifts, and I have sold some at school fundraisers. These are easy to complete, and most of them are designed for worsted weight yarns. In the past six weeks, I have completed six of the Heirloon Lace pattern (each in a different color baby yarn), and I will be finishing a Playtime afghan in denim blue within the week. With the intricate borders, these blankets look very difficult, and people always ooh and aah over them; however, they are very easy! I would love more from Terry Kimbrough. (Yes, I purchased her adult afghan book also!) If you only purchase one baby afghan pattern book, I would strongly suggest this one! You will have enough ideas to keep you busy for several years with just one book!
