This is a beautiful pattern in the picture! But, I have been a crocheter for years and done many different things. I tried this time and time again, but finally gave up and rewound the yarn. The instructions are not complete as far as which side to go around the different pieces. Sorry, but it is not doable.

I have tried several times to complete this pattern, but have not been able to complete the triangles. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I am having a terrible time with the gauge. Any suggestions? I want the finished product to be a large and am using the suggested yarn. The size "f" hook is way off. I have tried two more sizes to no available I am using US double crochet. Any help would be appreciated!

I am rating this only 3 stars because of the confusing instructions. I was finally able to complete it after over 2 months of crocheting and ripping out and crocheting again. If it weren't for my 40+ years of crocheting experience I don't think I could have completed it. Many times I just put it together the way I "thought" it should go. It does look very nice and I am VERY PLEASED WITH THE FINISHED PROJECT; but it was a real pain to do. Be careful when selecting a yarn. I started with Herrschner's Sport as it indicated a weight size of 3 as required. However, this yarn is closer to a 4 in thickness. I now check the needle size to confirm. I used turquoise and teal Schachenmayr Bravo yarn ordered from Herrschner's. It shows using a "G" hook. The reason for the change is I wanted something machine wash/dry. Also, the magnetic clasps they suggest aren't available through Annie's. I did some checking and found something I think will work at Artbeads.com. Oh, and another thing, do use the markers as indicated on the pattern. It is a real pain to have to go back and count rows to figure out where you are at. Hope this helps.

What a wonderful play on a bruges (sp?) lace pattern! This jacket appears to couple the bruges lace with Annie's "mile a minute" concept for the top front and back yolk along with a granny triangle approach to the sides. And the triangular bruges lace back is a great play on the pattern! I keep coming back to this pattern and look forward to playing with this one. :)
