I purchased a dog panel and a cat panel and made 30 mug rugs for Christmas gifts, added a mug and a pack of hot cocoa mix along with a little poem. Everyone who received a mug rug was enchanted by them. I used a Pellon batting - just dense enough to make a nice little "coaster" and some bright backing from our local fabric store. Gonna make another set for gifts during the year.

I bought 2 Dog Happy Panels to use with a panel I was given to make a memory/match game for a couple of toddlers in the family. Two panels were cut apart to make quilted "cards" with batting, backing, and decorative stitches in coordinating thread colors. The 3rd panel was left intact to be the "board" with border added, various decorative stitching in coordinating colors, and binding. Bright colors and machine washable were the "rules" of the day. I love the various "fabrics" of the dogs. The only challenge was the dog block with a black-background border, which tended to blend into the black sashing between blocks, making straight lines difficult around that unit. Other than that the colors and patterns are perfect for kid-friendly projects.
