Saw this on line and loved the look; the pattern was easy to purchase and download. I purchased one skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (had to go back and get a second skein). The instructions were easy to follow, and the cowl knit up quickly. I had trouble getting the cowl to drape to look like the picture and felt it was the wrong button, or possibly the fabric was too stiff (knot too tightly?). I bought a lighter weight yarn (Lion Brand Tweed Stripes) adjusted the needle size and stitch count, and knit a second cowl. It didn't drape to my satisfaction either, and I realized the cast on and bound off edges were unstable. I re-knit the first cowl, adding 3 rows of moss stitch to the cast on and bound off edges. These rows give it a more polished look (to my way of thinking). Still looking for the perfect button, but I'm thinking of sewing 3 buttons instead of the 2 the pattern calls for. My cowl is slightly wider than the model, and I think the added button would make it more balanced. I usually modify almost every pattern I use, so please don't feel your pattern was lacking.

I love this pattern, I have knitted it!! I went back just now and noticed that there was NO MENTION of WOOL, anyplace. It cost too much to send back and I wanted it so badly that I went ahead and made it up. You will not be sorry!! It is beautiful! I used the light grey color, Mega 6007. Please add and tell us contents of wool, etc. Thank you!!

I've made several with different colors. A wonderful pattern.
