What is a "print-to-order" pattern?

A print-to-order pattern is printed for you at the time we receive your order. Patterns with up to eight pages are printed in color; patterns with more than eight pages have color covers with black and white inside pages. We'll print and ship it to you within 24 to 48 hours after receiving your order. Please note that your print-to-order patterns will be shipped separately to you so if you ordered other items, you'll receive multiple packages.

This lacy design requires 850 yds of fingering-weight yarn and a size D/3/3.25mm crochet hook. The entire design is worked sideways with the edging worked as you go. Shorter stitches along the top edge give the shawl a slightly crescent shape, which allows it to drape beautifully around the neckline. Sample shown made using 2 skeins of Midknit Cravings (84% superwash merino/16% stellina) in color Living Wall and a 3.25 mm (D) crochet hook.

I bought the pineapple shawl and this was a variant on it so I was in my element once I got to this pattern. I love the instructions and the end result was fabulous. I live in the UK so the recommended yarn was a bit of a mission to find, but I substituted with Cascade Heritage Prints - Blue-Green (44) and used a 3.5mm hook and it came up just as nice (just a bit bigger).
