I carefully made this jacket and found it impossible to finish at the end. Finally, I took all my work out and wound up all the yarn, which has been sitting in a box for a long time untouched. I had lost interest and confidence in my ability to ever make anything fitted again. As for the Kimberli jacket, I doubt if I will ever attempt it again. Not only were the directions very difficult to follow, but I was completely frustrated with the amount of time and patience I put into it -- only to find that I was never able to wear the garment. Several of my mother's friends who are very experienced at needlework of all kinds tried to figure it out, and they were stumped, too. Good luck to anyone who tries out this gorgeous pattern. I am very disappointed that I failed at it. I taught myself to knit when I was thirteen years old; and my first project was a complicated long-sleeved sweater, with which I had no problem and of which I was very proud. Now I have several large amounts of yarn that I purchased for such projects and do not expect to ever use. I will be making a sizable donation of some beautiful, expensive yarns to a needy women's group.
