I'm having trouble understanding the pattern after row 7. I can't understand the rev St st rnds. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Helen, hltheis@suddenlink.net

Helen - Rev st st refers to reverse stockinette stitch which when worked in the round means purling all stitches in the round.

This is a very nice, very easy pattern. The pattern stitch drapes beautifully. I adapted the pattern because I wanted a cowl with sz 3 pima cotton yarn. I have a thin neck. I used a sz 7 circular needle and 140 sts cast on. Next time, I'd cast on about 150 (up to 160 sts for a larger head, fuller neck). This is a go-to pattern for gifts as well as your own wardrobe.
