Technique - Crochet

Inspired by the classic motorcycle jacket, this darling crochet version is missing nothing but the smell of leather ... and possibly the Harley.

This jacket is impressive in detail, and deceptively easy to crochet. The all single-crochet pattern makes for fast completion. Don't be intimidated by the zippers -- they are easy to hand-stitch into place. Made using worsted-weight yarn. Instructions are written for size 12-18 months with changes for 2-12 yrs.

I made 2 of these jackets and would have to agree with a previous review that this should be listed as more of an intermediate project due to the zippers and amount of sewing you have to do when putting it together. Also, the pattern itself contains a few errors and should be updated. Aside from that, it was a great project and I will definitely make it again!

Caroline,
I'd love to buy the pattern, for future grandkids but am concerned about the zippers. Where did you buy the tiny little zippers from?
Thanks
Delynn

Delynn - An Internet search for a child's open/closed bottom metal zipper will bring up several sites where these are available for sale. We were able to find this at www.Joann.com

I have been crocheting for nearly 40 years, so am pretty advanced. This is for an Intermediate level crocheter I think. I made two jackets, for each of my Grandsons', aged 3 and 5. I made them large so that they'll still fit a year later. They absolutely love their jackets!
