More Than a Dozen Hats & Beanies: Hugs & Kisses - page 38 I have found that the cable pattern did not end properly. The picture of the hat on page 39 shows the pattern ending with OO on an OX sequence. This could just be the designers' preference. See below for proper sequence. Size Baby- Cast on 60 stitches instead of 66 as indicated and works the pattern as instructed until you have 100 stitches. Then follow the instructions or chart using the 20 stitch repeat. Do not use multiple of 20 sts + 10. Rnd 2 & Rnd 6 omit to last 10 sts instructions. Dec rnd: Omit to last 10 sts. instructions. The decrease stitch count will end with 60 stitches.

Sherry - You are correct. This is written to the designer's preference. Thanks for sharing how you customized this to work for your needs.

My first project from this book is the Baby Earflap. I immediately realized that the directions for making the earflaps, the first step, was wrong and would not give me the required number of stitches. The problem was easily fixed by doing a kfb at both the beginning and end of the increase row, rather than just one side. I corrected that, but as I worked the body of the hat I wound up with way too many stitches. I am an experienced knitter. There are no corrections on this site as yet. Please help.
