I'm a beginner knitter and found this pattern very hard to understand. I think you should print written instructions that are clearer than the ones you have.

I haven't knitted in years so this square in a square afghan seemed like a good project to start with. You can't get much easier than this. I practiced a small one for my dog because he has outgrown his puppy blanket from his bed. He really needed one for the living room where his bed is. The only thing that the old blanket covered was his middle and that left everything else out to be cold. He has a huge thing in his crate that he disappears into when he sleeps at night. It's very warm and fuzzy and he loves the thing. Blue is my favorite color so that's what color my dog Charlie got for his blanket. It was really hard to choose from the selection of blues that are offered but I finally settled on one. It's beautiful!

I have made several of these afghans. I have enjoyed knitting them. I really enjoy that they are reversible. Made one for my little dog, Emily too.

This afghan was wonderful to make! It was easy to enlarge by adding another row and square. It was a wedding gift and the bride cried when she saw it. She appreciated the time and effort it took to make, even though it was an easy project.

I made the Square-in-a-Square. I adapted the pattern to make a prayer shawl. I did do it in 2 panels; next time I'd just double the cast on, to avoid sewing panels together. It is a fun easy pattern. Made as directed, be aware you'll be holding a lot of stitches on the circular needle. I'm not always an 'even-tension' knitter so I did have to block the project. I love the reversibility and would recommend this set of attractive patterns.
