Stitch a Chic Designer Purse

Is it time to add a gorgeous designer purse to your outfit? Make your own with the Designer Purses episode of Knit and Crochet Now!

Greetings, Stitchers! I'm Mary Forte, your Knit and Crochet Now! update editor. I'm here to share highlights from episode 12 of season 11. I love it that every time I watch an episode, I learn something new. This time it was another way to work a crocheted picot. It always amazes me how different a stitch can look depending on where you insert the hook.

Add Puffs & Bobbles

A great way to create texture is by adding puffs, bobbles and clusters. Those terms all refer to bunches of stitches that look like miniature orbs or bubbles. Both knitters and crocheters can make them, and there are many different methods and styles. Annie's has lots of patterns featuring bobbles. Here are just two to experiment with:

For knitters who love bobbles, there's the Matelasse Lapghan from Annie's Signature Designs. Bobbles make it a symphony of texture.

For crocheters, there's Marly Bird's Chic Throw from the Crochet Skill Builders video collection. It includes a really fun block called Layered Long Bobbles Block 5. You can find all the videos from this series on Annie's Creative Studio. Check it out with a free trial membership!
