In the Technique Corner: Crochet Puff Stitch Edge

It's almost done! In Knit and Crochet Now! episode 12 of season 11, expert Lena Skvagerson shows you how to finish off the Novo Block Afghan with a fancy crochet puff stitch edge. You get all the directions for making the border lie flat, working through the third bar of half double crochet stitches and creating fun textural puffs.

I Finished the Afghan! Now What?

Finishing a long-term project can be like turning over the last page of a treasured novel. It may leave you craving another afghan project. Of course, Annie's has lots of afghan patterns to choose from. Here are just two of them:

You crocheters may want to check out the Alhambra Afghan. This afghan shows how just two colors can be so elegant.

You knitters may want to check out the Weekend Cabin afghan. A pretty stitch pattern repeated in several colors will keep your attention throughout the project.

What Am I Working on Right Now?

I always have at least one knit project and one crochet project sitting on my coffee table. At present I'm still working on the knitted version of the Moroccan Tile Afghan from Annie's Kit Clubs that will be available after Jan. 22, 2022. It has been so much fun to see each square coming off the needles. Here's another little sneak peek:

For you lucky crocheters, your version of the Moroccan Tile Aghan Kit Club is already available!

On my hook is some Irish lace for my daughter's bridal veil. Irish lace is so much fun to make. It's delicate and textural and whimsical all at the same time. Here's my experimentation so far:

(I promise I will weave in ends and block!)

I'm trying to match the lace on her dress, so I've been looking at lots of patterns and videos including Irish Crochet Made Modern & Easy, an online video class available on Annie's Creative Studio.
