Kathy Orta Files is known across the country as "The Paper Phenomenon" for her amazing projects and innovative paper-crafting techniques, such as the secret compartment and hidden hinge system which she teaches in the Lullaby Memories Keepsake Box & Album class. Kathy is an experienced teacher, educator and creative inspiration. Eight years ago, she began sharing her point of view on preserving memories through workshops and her blog. A love for paper crafting and home decor started her on a journey of creating unique scrapbooks and paper crafts that can be enjoyed in homes as decorative accents. With years of experience in the paper-crafting field, Kathy has created many 3-D projects, home decor pieces, custom mini albums and more than 100 educational classes.
Kathy has had wonderful experiences conducting workshops at specialty scrapbooking stores and crafting big box stores, retreats and other crafting venues. She also had the pleasure of designing for Cricut, by Provo Craft, for shows and TV events, for Tim Holtz's various show booths at CHA and, most recently, Annie's Online Classes.
Before working in the paper-crafting industry, Kathy worked on Wall Street for 15 years as an executive assistant. Now she resides in sunny Florida with her family. She is a wife and mother and "mommy" to two furry pets. One of the highlights in Kathy's day is when she is sharing her passion for the creative arts with fellow crafters and friends.
Just completed two of these "keepsakes"! Beautiful!
Kathy's instructions were excellent, easy to follow both in the video and hard copy.
Would love to take another class if Kathy offers.
Thanks for the fun crafting.
The box took a long time to make, all the cuts, but it was well worth it. The box turned out beautiful and I added extra embellishments. The instructor was great and she explained in easy directions. My box turned out BEAUTIFUL! Waiting for her next class. I would give this class 5 star, but this class is not for beginners.
I found this class to be great everything was easy to follow - and everyone has loved the ones I have created. But there is one thing it was the shape of the box - I had to do some modifications when it came to the ends - but it all worked out in the end
I am so pleased with this box I am about to be a Nanna for the first time and cannot wait to show my son and daughter in law what a wonderful keepsake this is. Thankyou so much I really have enjoyed this tutorial and have no doubt I will be making a few more of these in the not too distant future. Just one downside I wish I had got the CD, as like the previous comment when you want to back to just one piece it takes a bit of juggling to get to where you finished previously Thanks again this has been a real labour of LOVE!!!
