I purchased this pattern not knowing if it would be too complicated for me, I was more than a little intimidated to attempt making this (I consider myself to be an intermediate crocheter). Anyway, after looking at my print out of the pattern for over 3 months, I decided to give it a try. I used Lion Brand Jeans yarn in vintage, and a 4mm hook... I know it isn't the required yarn weight, but it actually turned out to be perfect, not heavy or bulky at all!. The cardi is gorgeous!!! I blocked it before adding the shawl collar and being only 5'2", it's longer on me, which is what I had wanted. I intend to make another in cream, but will finish a current project first, which is far more simple, and requires no concentration to give me a break from this more time consuming pattern. The basket weave sections take forever, but look fantastic, so they're worth it - and the variety of "sections" add variety so I never felt like I was doing the same boring repetition of stitches over and over. Well designed, well written, and a freaking gorgeous cardigan, I LOVE this pattern!!!!

The cardigan is lovely once you work out the pattern, there are a few errors and omissions. I would definitely say it's more advanced than intermediate because of this, especially the sleeves

I was so pleased with this pattern. Once I figured out how to read the pattern which was good, the final product turned out beautiful and fit well. I'm still entering into more challenging crochet patterns that build my confidence.

I agree with Mary! This is a work of art and many thanks to the designer! Now I am wondering how to make this with a celtic style hood with a longer version of this cardigan! I just might have a go at it!

This is just beyond words, this is beautiful. This is not just crochet but a work of fiber art.
