- 4—21/2" x 42" strips each of 7 blue fabrics ranging from light (1) to dark (7) and numbered 1–7 or 3/8 yard each fabric
- 1 yard medium blue print for second border and binding

- Backing 49" x 57"
- Neutral-color all-purpose thread
