Debra Arch has had hundreds of crochet, knitting, hand applique, machine sewing, quilting, and needlepoint on plastic canvas designs published in various publications over the past 15 years. Since the age of 9, the inspiration and instruction Debra received from her mother and grandmother, 4-H leaders and home-economics teachers gave her a passion for learning all types of crafts. She started crocheting in high school when her grandmother showed her the basics of crochet. Debra has continued her grandmother's legacy by teaching others the art of crochet, knitting and quilting over the years.
While Debra had frequently designed projects for herself and to give as gifts, it wasn't until 1998 that Debra started her professional designing career by submitting her original designs to publishers. Debra has produced 10 pattern books for Annie's, crochets and knits designs for Annie's Hook and Needle Club, and is a frequent contributor to Crochet! and Crochet World magazines. Debra has a talent for developing new tips and tricks which she shares with her students to simplify techniques, making their crafting experiences easier and more fun!
Debra adds, "I feel privileged to have this opportunity to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for crochet. Crochet is a life skill that will last a lifetime. Crocheting beautiful, useful items for oneself or to give as gifts for family members and friends brings a sense of accomplishment and gives personal satisfaction that enriches one's life."
