Embroidery Needles

Great tips!

Embroidery uses three common types of needles: Crewel, Chenille and Tapestry:

  • Crewel needles are sharp-pointed, medium-length needles with large eyes for threading.
  • Chenilles are also sharp-pointed, but are larger than crewel. Chenilles are for use with heavier yarns.
  • Tapestry needles are blunt ended and this makes them best for counted-thread embroidery.
