I too had problems at first understanding rows 3 and 4. I was reading it wrong. When I finally figured it out, I went to town. When this says "skip", it's a whole section and not just one skip. When I saw it as a "group to skip", it finally made sense. I love the look of this sweater and can't wait to finish it.

I love the sweater but I was wanting to use another yarn or thread like crochet thread as I live in Texas where it get in the 100's so I wanted a lighter weight cotton yarn. How much yardage and weight is in a skein of Sinfonia cotton yarn. Thanks Kay Sandgren at kaysand39@gmail.com

Kay - Omega Sinfonia cotton is 3.5 ounces and 218 yards per skein.

I agree with Gayla. I must be missing something. Could I see what you advised her to do on rows 3 and 4?
Thanks.

Bonnie - The stitches in parenthesis are correct in row 3 and row 4.

In row 3 this section (Ch 3, sc in next ch 3 space, ch 3, 5 dc in next ch 3 space) is repeated a specific number of times per size to make the pattern of stitches for the top.

Row 3 - Sc in 1st dc. (Ch 3, skip 3 dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, skip ch 3, sc, and ch 3, sc in next dc) 9 (10,11,12) times. Ch 3, skip 3 dc, sc in last dc. Ch 3, turn.

Row 4 - 4 dc in 1st ch 3 space. This is worked into the italic ch 3 above (Ch 3, sc in next ch 3 space, ch 3, 5 dc in next ch 3 space) 8 (9,10,11) times. This is worked in the bold italic parenthesis stitches above Ch 3 sc in next ch 3 space, ch 3, 4 dc in next ch 3 space, dc in last sc. This is worked into the bold beginning stitches above along with the beginning of the blue parenthesis stitches. Ch 1, turn.

I have made two of these sweaters and did not have any problem with the pattern. I have had many compliments on my sweater. I am going to make a third one for a friend for Christmas.

I purchased this patter today and have studied and started it several times. Row 3 of the back is where I begin to have problems. After row 2, chain 1 and turn, Row 3, sc into the 1st dc, ( ch 3, skip 3 dc and sc into next dc, ** This is the next part that seems wrong. It says to ch 3, skip ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc in the next dc. ....it looks wrong compared to the photo. It seems that the ch 3, sc, ch 3 should be chain 5 then go onto the top of the 5 dc. Does this make sense? Please send me row 3 and 4 of the back. Thanks.

It is such a beautiful, delicate sweater that I can't wait to start working on it.
