Michele has been an avid knit and crochet designer for Annie's since the 1980s. As she says, "There is nothing I'd rather do!" Michele's grandmother taught her and her sister to knit when Michele was just 5 or 6 years old. While Michele loved knitting right away, she didn't know much more than the knit stitch until she was 19. Her motivation for learning more about knitting came when another girl gave her boyfriend, Dick, a pair of handknit mittens. She knit Dick a new pair so he'd have to throw out the other pair. Her hard work must have paid off, as she and Dick have been happily married for many years and have three grown children and six grandchildren.

In her early 20s, Michele taught herself how to crochet, and now she equally loves both crafts. She has designed 100s of patterns and has been published countless times by Annie's, Better Homes and Gardens, Coats & Clark, Universal Yarn and Herrschners, among others.

Terrific class even for an experienced knitter. I learned so many new techniques. The instructor was excellent and went at a good pace. I loved all the little extras for knitted animals. I had just made a squirrel knitted on double pointed needles with short rows that didn't need seaming. I wanted to try this technique of amigurumi knitting flat and seaming. It was definitely easier on my hands. I also appreciated the tips for tying ends, embroidering the face, attaching the limbs. Really well designed and thought out. Instead of Billy Bunny I made for my granddaughter a green Bettina Ballerina Bunny with a tutu and ballet slippers. I took the pattern for the kitty's sundress and turned it into a tutu. Adorable!!
I will definitely be making more of the little forest friends. Would love to send you a photo if you let me know where I can do that. Thanks!

This is a wonderful class to learn Amigurumi. The video is high quality and being able to look at the pattern and watch the video for technique is a Godsend for those of us who may need that little extra help. The instructor is easy to follow and understand. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn to make these charming animal toys!

Thank you for making a knitting class for amigurumi. I liked how each piece was knitted flat, forcing me to work on my seaming! I also learned how to embroider, as that isn't something I ever did before. Wonderful instructions and I really liked how much detail was given for every step.
