While growing up, Alli Bartkowski always looked for ways to express her artistic creativity, from art contests to working as the school yearbook art editor. Her favorite hobbies were painting, drawing and scrapbooking. In college, she studied mechanical/manufacturing engineering and product design. Alli discovered quilling when she saw a co-worker's beautifully quilled wedding invitation in a frame. "I instantly fell in love with it and wanted to learn all about this paper art." She taught herself how to quill and even cut her own strips of paper.

When she became a stay-at-home mom in 2002, she and her husband turned her unique quilled designs into an online business, Quilled Creations. Because of her engineering background and her interest in designing products, she decided to create and manufacture better quilling tools. Alli inspired many of her customers to learn to quill and her customers kept requesting for new designs and ideas. Now, she finds her quilling career (ironically, "curling paper") relaxing and very rewarding.

Quilled Creations has become the world's leading supplier of paper quilling products. Alli has written over 40 different quilling kits and designed many innovative tools. She often jokes, "My mind sees the world in quilled shapes and scrolls!"

Alli has been published in many magazines and is the author of numerous quilling books including Paper Quilling: For the First Time (2010), 50 Nifty Quilled Cards (2008), Paper Quilling Kit for Dummies (2009), Quilled Flowers: A Garden of 35 Paper Projects (2012) and her latest, Quilled Jewelry (2013). She also contributes quilled card projects to CardMaker magazine.

Very clear and concise directions - not 'overly talked through' - just simple and easy to follow instructions.

Very clear and great instructions. I found it to be an excellent course. I would like a book on more patterns to make. Having such fun with this course, I want to go on to make more. Thank you for offering this course.

I have done paper crafts for many years, origami, paper sculpture and pop-up cards etc. This excellent class presented new techniques for me to apply to my paper crafts. Very clear instructions with a great mix of quilling projects to try. I'm 66 years old, retired, with lots of time to practice my quilling.
