Where or where was this book when I was looking for something to make for my friend's first grandchild? This book of "sacks"Ā¯ or as the book calls them cocoons would have been the perfect thing for a new baby to come home from the hospital in.
The instructions are very detailed and you need to read carefully to make sure you are doing what they say. Front post double crochet and popcorn stitches are used to create these cocoons. Some patterns use both while others use one or the other. There are five different projects to pick from and each has a coordinating hat.
The patterns are detailed enough that I won't be watching TV and trying to follow the pattern. They are also worked in rounds which is another detail that is a bit harder for me to follow but not impossible.
If you have a new baby on the way or a friend that has one coming, this book will provide a cocoon that is suited for him/her. Whether a dog lover (hat complete with floopy ears) or a delicate little gal (ruffles in pink and white) or you just want an earth tone (a white one and two beige ones), there will be one perfect for this new bundle.
