Berroco® Mixer™

This yarn is very pretty, but it is the devil to work with. The fuzzy and shiny parts aren't too bad, but the crochet thread part is very hard. I am crocheting with it, and it is hard to tell where to put the hook to draw up a loop for the next row. I am also working with a pattern that seems a bit off, so this is not helping me like the yarn either. It may be a better knitting yarn. I have been crocheting for well over 50 yrs, so this is no beginner problem! I hope everyone else has better luck with it than I have.

Berroco® Mixer™

I just received 2 skeins of Mixer in the color Disco. While it is a very pretty yarn, it is nothing like the color that showed on my computer! I mean, it's not even close. Disco online looks like a very pretty pink/mauve/maroon medley. The color I received is brown with reddish/brown shimmer strands. I mean, when you look at it, you would say BROWN, not MAUVE or PINK. I think I will exchange it for the Shimmy, which on my computer looks like a pale, shimmery denim blue with tan strands running through it. I can only hope that the Shimmy looks at least a LITTLE bit like how it appears on my computer. I'll have to think about this one; I may just exchange it for something entirely different. I mean, I'm used to the computer changing colors a little, but this is WAY off. Not even CLOSE. And I have a MacBook Air. It usually comes at least close to most online colors. I will say that the yarn itself is very pretty and the varied widths, colors, and shimmer do look very nice. Also it says machine washable and lay flat to dry. Of course I won't put it in the machine, but at least it is washable. If I keep it, or exchange it for the Shimmy color, it will make a very pretty cowl or scarf. I'm only giving it 4 stars due to the color difference. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
