I am on my second dress. So here is a hint, long ago there was a bed doll 1940's and 50's. Her dress was crocheted with size 10 or smaller cotton thread and then starched very stiff. They were very frilly. These dress patterns are done the same way. There is a yoke and then the dress is added to the yoke. These dresses turn out beautiful, worth the effort. I know my granddaughters will love them. My biggest problem was finding size 3 crochet cotton.

I have been crocheting for 40+ years, it is so nice to hear that others are having a difficult time with this pattern. I too have ripped out a lot and have put the project aside for a while. I was hoping to make these for my granddaughter's 9th birthday in June. This is definitely not for beginners.

Wow! I thought I was the only one having trouble, Thanks Pamela S. and Carol L. I too, have been crocheting over 50 yrs.now, and this pattern was Very difficult to understand. I have it ripped apart now, for the 3rd time, and put it to the side for awhile to clear the brain. Since I see now that these 2 ladies succeeded in accomplishing it I'll try again, some day. Definitely not for awhile and it's Definitely not for beginners!
