I am changing the background to 29 x 40. I used cream fleece with blue fleece in waves for the ocean, sort of like the picture. My hands can't handle too much crocheting.

I have changed some of the colors of the animals and I am sewing on the animals to the fleece. I have added extra fish, turtles and created a purple octopus. (my picture does not have a lion or octopus.) I stitched the arc in three rows to keep it in place. I am stuffing the turtles so the shell stands up. I plan to create a rainbow and add it to the top. Also, adding an olive leaf to the bird's bill.

I like the idea of a bigger arc for the next project. This has been really fun and very cute. Hoping my adult children give me grandchildren soon!

Corrections - noting the number of stitches at the end of each row and wording the dec correctly for the sc and dc stitches.

Instead of - dc dec in next 3 chs- twice

This pattern should read - (dc3tog) twice

Do this twice:
Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops 3 times (4 loops on hook), yarn over, draw through all loops on hook 2 stitches decreased.

Hope this helps all you folks out :)
This stitch is not in your stitch guide (dc3tog)

Help!! I cannot find any of the recommended yarn this pattern calls for. Any suggestions for an alternate?

I made this for my niece who is expecting. I thought it was easier than intermediate level. Because it is supposed to be Noah's Ark, I made an additional elephant, giraffe, turtle, bird, fish, and also created two tigers. I made the ark longer to accommodate the extra animals. I also used three shades of blue for the ocean. Some of the color choices for the animals were changed as well.

The previous customer talks of a lion & an octopus in the pattern. I have to say I didn't see those in mine. I've had this pattern a year & did this for a friends baby, it turned out beautiful.
Nice & easy to read instructions, nothing too complicated yet looks extremely effective.

I did go that extra mile & crochet around to level it off then backed it in white fleece. In my opinion it needed a backing to show it off as it's quite top heavy with all the pieces sewn on. I then sewed on little crocheted circles to attach randomly to the back in order to secure the two pieces together, a bit like in quilting.
I tried to load a pic of it with this review but it won't let me.

Shame, I would lve to see other peoples work of the patterns.

Oh & the recipient loved it! :)

One photo shows a lion and an octopus but the pattern doesn't have those. Kinda wanted those. But I'll try to figure them out, I guess.
