This simply does not work on my machine (Viking). 1) I use the free arm a lot and having this stuck to the removable part would be an inconvenience, not to mention not helping. 2) There is no 5/8" mark; it seems like a no-brainer since most patterns have a 5/8" seam allowance. 3) It is just a piece of paper with adhesive on the back - I don't think it would last through 3 or 4 projects and would probably leave a residue if you tried to remove it.

When I first started learning to sew (back in the stone age), I put this tape on my sewing machine to insure an accurate seam allowance past what was marked on the feed plate. It worked great. Not only for learning to sew for my family but also when I branched out and began to sew for others. I am about to teach several other people the art of sewing and began to look for my "old" friend for them. I am using older machines to teach and once again need the aid of the seam tape. I plan to buy it in quantity this time and put some up for later use. I AM SO GLAD IT IS STILL BEING MADE!!!!!

I have had one of these on my Phaff7570 since I got it because the needle plate is metric (the only thing I have an issue with on this machine), and since I don't sew metric I need standard measurements. This is the only thing I've found that works at all. I had to make a couple of cuts to make it fit and the printing is getting pretty faded over time, but until I find something else that's better, this is what I'm using. My machine does not have a drop in bobbin so that's not an issue for me.

I bought this thinking I could use it on my Viking machine. A front drop in bobbin isn't going to work with this. It's just paper and has a sticky backing. It will work okay if I only want to use the 2" and larger on the seam guide. The 1/4" and up to 2 inches is not usable on my machine. I tried cutting it a few different ways to make it fit but just gave up in the end and threw it away. A waste of $2.98 for me. I rated it one star because that was as low as I could go on the ratings.

This is the only way I can achieve straight seams. Not sure how long it will adhere to my machine however so far it has been very good.
