Lisa Carnahan’s mother taught her to knit when she was 9 or 10 years old, but it wasn’t until her 20’s that she picked up the needles again and hasn’t put them down since. What started out as a hobby, knitting for her three children, has become a full time career. Lisa began knitting model garments for the yarn industry, and at the same time, working on some of her own designs. She then began doing freelance designing and her patterns have appeared in the collections of Classic Elite, Fiber Trends, Tahki Stacy Charles, Lion Brand Yarns and others, and have been published by Interweave Press, Knitters, Knit1, Cast On, Knit It and Annie’s Attic. In 2001, she launched her own business, Lisa Knits, a line of knitwear patterns that are available in yarn shops across the country.
