Thank you for sending this book to me. I just received it this afternoon in the mail (May 10th 2019) & have been studying it ever since. I have never tried Swedish Weaving before but am eager to get started on the projects in this book. They look so interesting, especially that Afghan. I also like the Bookmarks & the Towels, Sharon Tourino

I have done what I thought was Huck embroidery since I was a small child. Mom would iron on a transfer to Huck toweling (which we could get by the yard at that time) and then I would fill in the areas with floss and do an outline stitch around the individual design. After reading this book, I find there is a lot more to this craft than I ever knew. I also learned that Aida cloth can be used as well as Monk's Cloth and Huck toweling for the medium on which this embroidery is done. Since I have plenty of Aida cloth I plan on using it up with the projects in this book. The book contains a dozen projects from book marks to afghans and plenty smaller sized projects in between. The graphs are on tear out pages and are in color. There are also two alphabets so you can personalize a book mark with initials or make a place mat with each person's name. If you want to expand your knowledge of Swedish Weaving/Huck Embroidery, this book will take you by the hand and give you the information you need.

I remembered doing Swedish Weaving 25+ years ago. When I found this book, I was intrigued by the more contemporary designs. The book does not disappoint as it is evident that great care was taken in its production. The author states in the beginning that all ages can learn Swedish Weaving and after reading the book, I feel that anyone would be capable of following her directions. It is concise in the instructions and easy to read. The first section familiarizes the reader with all materials and tools that can be used in Swedish Weaving. And they are mentioned within each project description as to how to use them for the project, jogging your memory and avoiding flipping back to find the info. There are highlighted helpful hints blocks with every project and alternate ideas for design usage. The color photos are very vivid and clear. The designs that are included on the pull-out sheets are clearly printed and easy to duplicate on a copy machine, if needed. (This is also mentioned in the instructions as a way to keep track of your progress on the stitching charts as you work through a design). The only problem for me is I can't decide which project to start first! I have been crafting for over 40 years and find it rare to find such an informative, easy to follow crafting book. I recommend this to anyone whether as a beginner or someone returning to Swedish Weaving, or for fresh new ideas for an established weaver. The author's website is noted in her biography and it would be well-worth the reader's time to also visit that for more pattern choices.

I am so excited with this book that I do not know which project to do first. So much information and new things that I find interesting and useful ... an excellent tool for the beginner or the experienced weaver. Explanations are thorough and concise. Patterns can be used on any even weave fabric. Overall a beautiful new book and much needed in the Huck/Swedish Embroidery "world".
