ANNIE'S SIGNATURE DESIGNS: Twinset Cardigan & Tank Crochet Pattern
4.0

January 19, 2022

I only made the cardigan so my review is limited to that piece. I would have loved to have rated this 5 stars, primarily because the design structure is ingenious, so unique and unlike anything I had done before. I was reading the pattern and kept saying "what?, what?" But I put away my doubts and concerns and followed the pattern as written and in the end, I had a cardigan. Pure genius. The designer must be an engineer in her day job. I LOVED how it went together. However, because the construction was so unusual, I would not have rated it easy...more intermediate. The other aspect of the design which needed to be addressed a little better in the pattern notes was the need to block the garment for the stitching to get that elongated look and for the dimensions to be accurate. As written, my pattern stitches were short and fat. The pattern does advise that to get gauge you have to pull on the stitch pattern. What is not addressed and maybe because it was obvious to everyone but me, is that to get the final garment to look like the photo you have to both pull and block it in place. In the end I felt the garment was a little large through the body and the sleeves were a little tight for my arms. It won't be my favorite cardi, but it definitely won't be my least favorite. I look forward to trying more garments from this designer.
