I like gnomes and this little basket is so cute and easy to make I couldn't resist giving it a try, The pattern is well written and THERE IS A BONUS VIDEO, EXPLAINING THE STAR STITCH. The video is a great close-up and very easy to follow. I made a smaller version with Red Heart Super Saver, to work out any problems before I make a big one with the recommended yarn. It turned out great. It is a fun project to make and the hardest part is to decide how much polyfill to put into the hat. I over-stuffed at first and it looked like a traffic cone instead of a hat, so I removed some. Gnome Lovers, give this pattern a try.

I can't WAIT to finish this for my niece! I was going right along swiftly until it came time to make the star stitch. No matter how many times I read the directions, I could not figure it out. I started asking fellow crochet people for help, was getting really frustrated at it, and then - NOTICED where it says 'bonus video'. Well! Thank God for that!!
Without this wonderful video, I may have given up!!
The video is fantastic. It's VERY clear, you can back it up as much as you need to, and the woman explains it all so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am using different yarn than what is suggested, (same weight, nearly same colors) so it looks a tiny but different, but is SO CUTE!!! I highly recommend this project for yourself or anyone else who may have a gnome 'thing' .
