Ellen Gormley has been crocheting since she was about 10 years old, but didn't begin her design career until 2004 when she began staying home with her children. She stitched more than 80 afghans before becoming a full-time crafter who "gets paid to play with yarn!" Within the crochet community, Ellen is particularly well-known for her stylish bead crochet and join-as-you-go crochet and motif designs. Ellen has more than 200 published designs including garments, bags and accessories, and home decor.

Ellen has been published in numerous crochet magazines and has written two books, Go Crochet! Afghan Design Workbook, published in 2011, and the recently released Learn Bruges Lace, published by Annie's. She is the instructor of Annie’s Learn to Crochet and Learn to Bead Crochet video classes and is also one of the crochet experts featured on Knit and Crochet Now! which airs on PBS. In 2013, Ellen was named editor of Annie’s Crochet! magazine.

VERY GOOD! Instructions very clear, I can see what she is doing. Surprised there were so many new things to learn. Projects are nice. She has you do projects to learn how, but encourages you to use them as stepping stones to use your own creativity. Happy to see that I can learn how to use large beads, pony beads, as well as sequins and down to tiny beads. I bought the Tear Drop Shrug pattern and can't wait to put some beading on the fringes and maybe a bit elsewhere in a Native American theme for my Native American daughter-in-law.

Very clear instructions and filming was very good so you can easily see her making the stitches. Excited to start my new project.

This video is very easy to understand. The instructor moves through the projects at the right pace, not too fast and not too slowly. Excellent tips. The demonstration is very clear. Any skill level should be able to make these projects.
