Crocheters around the world love to make afghans! At times, we stitchers find a gorgeous stitch pattern that we'd like to make into an afghan, but we aren't sure how to make the math work.

Join crochet expert Rohn Strong in this part 1 of the series Create Your Own Afghan Pattern. In this first episode, Rohn teaches three different stitch patterns -- lacy, textured and colorwork -- then explains how to work a multiple of any stitch pattern to make a blanket sized just right for you or your fortunate recipient.

You'll learn how to measure a stitch pattern repeat, size it for blankets from baby to full-size afghans and how to add a simple reverse single crochet edging which suits any afghan pattern. To add the stitch patterns to your Annie's Creative Studio pattern library or to download them to your personal device, click on the Patterns tab above.
