Crocheters around the world love to make afghans! At times, we stitchers find a gorgeous stitch pattern that we'd like to make into an afghan, but we aren't sure how to make the math work.

Join crochet expert Rohn Strong in this part 1 of the series Create Your Own Afghan Pattern. In this first episode, Rohn teaches three different stitch patterns -- lacy, textured and colorwork -- then explains how to work a multiple of any stitch pattern to make a blanket sized just right for you or your fortunate recipient.

You'll learn how to measure a stitch pattern repeat, size it for blankets from baby to full-size afghans and how to add a simple reverse single crochet edging which suits any afghan pattern.
